Celebrating Creativity

HELEN PENCIL POSTER ADULT[77].jpg

Celebrating Creativity for adults over the age of 15 years

Purpose

  • Celebrate pencil art, as we’re meeting in the former Pencil Factory, next to the Derwent Pencil Museum (Yes- amazingly Derwent pencils were made here!).

  • Display artwork for the enjoyment of others; it’s not a competition.

  • Encourage people of any skill level or experience; it isn’t just for ‘artists’.

  • Give information about purchasing art or taking commissions, with sales to be arranged privately.

Art work

  • One piece of art in any type of pencil (i.e. graphite, coloured, watercolour).

  • Size: A3 maximum.

  • The underlying drawing can be pre-drawn ( i.e. the art can be colouring).

  • Any presentation ( i.e. framed, mounted or none of these). No glass in frames.

Displaying of art work

  • Will be done by the organisers to fit the space available.

  • Will be in the refreshments hall, freely accessible by adults and children.

  • All care will be taken but unfortunately no guarantees can be made about the protection of any art. Consider the piece’s value before bringing it for display.

  • Each person to collect their art work when they leave.

To express your interest Please click on the button below!!

Celebrating Children's Creativity

  • We will also display children’s pencil art during the Getaway.

  • The organisers will display the art in clear cellophane bags pinned to display boards.

  • There’s no need to fill in any forms, just bring your art.

Children can:

  • Bring one, best piece of art, created at home in plain or coloured pencils.

  • Bring art up to A4 size.

  • Write their name and age on their picture.

  • Write a tip for others about drawing and this will be displayed.
